[Episcopal News Service] Global concerns and Anglican Communion issues will be a major focus of the Episcopal Church’s 76th General Convention when it meets July 8-17 in Anaheim, California.
The church’s main legislative gathering, which meets every three years, also will welcome many international guests from various Anglican Communion provinces. Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams will attend General Convention for the first time July 8-9. He will participate in Bible study and be a keynote speaker at a global economic forum on the evening of July 8.

I suppose the lack of replies is indicative of a collective yawn about Rowan.  Too bad, he really is a great thinker and a voice worth hearing.

This was brought up on a different thread here, but I don’t think it received many comments there, either.

I, for one, and glad he is coming to GC, and I pray his presence will have a calming effect.

I had somehow missed this news.  I’m actually quite excited that he will be there.  I hope that, in some way, his presence will make it a little more difficult for the Convention to turn their backs on the concerns of the Communion or the Covenant.
