It is right and proper that we lift up our prayers for the people of Haiti as they suffer as a result of the earthquake. But let’s also be the living hands of Christ by responding with the financial help needed to help them heal.

You can make an online donation here. Check the “Disaster response” button.

Donations can be mailed to:
Episcopal Relief & Development
P.O. Box 7058
Merrifield, VA 22116-7058

Donate by phone with your credit card. Call toll-free, 1.800.334.7626, ext. 5129.

“Contributions to our Disaster Fund provide critical assistance such as food, water, medicine, shelter and other necessities after disasters. These emergency funds allow Episcopal Relief & Development to immediately assist people in the U.S. and worldwide when crises happen and to stay in the community to help heal and rebuild.”

As you pray for the people of Haiti in the aftermath of the earthquake, please pray specifically for Mallory Holding. Mallory is a volunteer serving in Haiti with the Young Adult Service Corps of the Episcopal Church. She is a member of our neighbor parish, St. Mark’s, Glen Ellyn, IL. She accompanied me on my first trip to the Sudan. So far there has been now report as to how she is doing.
Mallory’s mother, Suzi, is also a friend of mine who used to be rector of Church of Our Savior, Elmhurst, IL and is now Canon to the Ordinary in San Diego. Please hold Mallory and Suzi in your prayers.
