I am an Anglican who came to Anglicanism through the Church of England. Confirmed in TEC at Easter 2003, but am now at an AMiA parish, served as an ACNA delegate and a postulant for Holy Orders in the Anglican Mission. I have deep sympathies with many at the Covenant forum, who wish to see a Communion-wide solution to the crisis with the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Church of Canada, but I believe that both ‘inside’ and ‘outside’ strategies are necessary and blessed by our Lord. I wholeheartedly support the Anglican Covenant and believe that only the Communion Partner dioceses and ACNA should eventually be able to sign onto it. Now is a time where we need some clarity, and it does not serve the cause of the Gospel to prevaricate by either (a) signing the Covenant with crossed-fingers or (b) watering it down to fit lesser visions of interdependence in communion. I am also the chairman of the philosophy department at Trinity Christian College (Palos Heights, IL) and an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan.
